Phillippe Limpin-Nagtalon, BEd, IA. Phillippe graduated from the University of the Philippines with an elementary specialization in special education. She has owned and managed a tutorial and special education center in the Philippines for both regular and special needs students since 1996 before she and her family migrated to Canada in  2008. She has made reading programs for preschool, has handled children with autism, children with learning disabilities and children with behavioural disorders. She believes that children are “wet cement”—mouldable and pliable that the imprints left on them shape who they are and their future. She also believes that a positive teacher- pupil relationship is vital for learning to take place. She will be taking her Masters Degree this year and is looking forward in being a part of the Third Academy team in making a difference in the lives of children.

Barti Jogia works with the grades 1 and 2 students. She has been at The Third Academy for the previous several years. Before that, she had worked with the Calgary Regional Health Authority.

Rolf Wietgrefe has been with the Third Academy since its inception. He has an IA certificate and has taken Psychology courses for his fascination with the human brain.  Before arriving at the school Rolf’s passion for 20 years was owning and operating small businesses. This business background allowed him to develop a Life skills program that fitted the needs of the students. They include a Work experience program for the Senior high classes, running the “Snack Attack Store”, Student Council, Time and Money as well as social behavior classes. Rolf also manages the uniforms as well as the monthly newsletter.

She believes that education is the stepping stone and key to success for young students. As a teacher, she hopes to motivate the students in discovering their inner strengths, abilities and harness them to develop their personalities. Her main aim is to provide a stimulating learning environment that encourages students to trust their own opinions and foster the confidence to realize their potential and dreams. Her years of experience have helped formulate a method of facilitating rather than dictating the young minds. This has helped students enjoy learning, retain information for longer duration and become confident of their abilities. She firmly believes vital education is the preparation for young people to achieve success in all their endeavors. She hopes to instill this love for learning and thirst for seeking knowledge within each student.

The Third Academy Red Deer

Brigitte Bouchard, IA. Hello.  My name is Brigitte Bouchard.  I was born and raised in Laval, Quebec and worked as an office administrator until 1993.  I then left my home province and ventured to the Northwest Territories on a summer holiday to improve my English.  I loved Yellowknife so much that I decided to stay and enhance my career.  There, I worked as a Core French Educational Assistant, a daycare provider in a French daycare and as a French Legislative Secretary for the Government of the NWT.  I met my husband there and our three girls were born in the 'land of the midnight sun'.  We relocated to Red Deer in 2001 and continue to raise our three girls who attend an all French school in Red Deer and are fluent in both offical languages.  I've been with The Third Academy since September 2006, working as Administrative Assistant to Dr. Marquart, Principal.

Other support staff include transportation, speech & language pathologists, occupational therapists, and psychologists
